Lure Coursing is a humane sport which attempts to imitate the coursing
of the rabbit by sight hounds but without the hare. The sight hounds chase
an artificial lure, usually a white kitchen garbage bag or fake fur strips. The lure is attached to a line that is then pulled on a motorized pulley that takes the lure in a zigzag, continuous loop pattern around the field.

RRED believes in allowing not just sight hounds to enjoy the natural born instinct to course but to allow all dogs to participate, so we hold events called Fun Runs that allow all breeds to come join the fun.

Some items you may want to bring to these events are:

Water for both your dog and you
Crates for your dog
Shade for sunny days
Slip Leads
A Snack or Two

Note: It is not recommended to bring your dogs on "pinch collars". The idea
of coursing is to encourage the chase or "prey" instinct so you don't want your dog getting a correction every time it lunges after the "bunny".
